Live and Work in Yarrawonga

We are a teaching clinic. This means we take on doctors in all parts of their training. We also have nursing students, as well as VCAL for administration.

During a doctors training – this may be Medical Student, M2M intern placement or registrar during their Fellowship of General Practice Training.

We strive hard towards a work life balance for all our staff. Having a local hospital means this does involve inpatient care and urgent, in hours and after hours, presentations. All doctors work in a trusted and respected group environment. We aim to minimise the impact on individuals with emergency presentations by sharing the roster in a very fair and equitable way.

Our full time commitment is 8 sessions per week. These sessions are a minimum of 3 hours.

Yarrawonga is a busy rural town. It is a popular holiday and retirement area, but continues to attact young families due to the modern enhancements, fantastic choice of schools and unmatched lifestyle.

The current population is 8000. It has a large lake (Lake Mulwala) which is part of the Murray River – popular for fishing and water sports. For those who love golf, not many towns can compete against the 3 quality golf courses on offer. Yarrawonga has both a Coles and Woolworths, plus a Country Target. However, it is an easy 1 hour drive to Albury/Wodonga and Shepparton; and 40 minutes to Wangaratta, providing all the essentials of larger towns. And of course, only 3 hours to Melbourne, making it easy to visit over a long or regular weekend.

Enjoy easy access to the high country where you can ski in winter and camp/bushwalk in summer. Only a 2 hour drive to the top of Mt Buller and 3 hours to Falls Creek or Mt Hotham.

Please contact our Practice Manager if you would like to enquire more about working and living in our fantastic town.
